What is ESM?

The Four Pillars

1. Spiritual Life

We strive to grow in personal and community prayer, discover the deep dynamism of Liturgy and the power of the Sacraments, put daily Mass and Adoration at the core of our lives, integrate silence into our prayer lives, and learn to accept the Mercy of God and ourselves.

2. Intellectual Formation

During the year, we study Scripture, Dogmatic Theology, Apologetics, Evangelization, Moral Theology, Marian Theology, Science and Religion and much more. We are taught by internationally renowned theologians and experts.

3. Missionary Formation

We gain pastoral experience on the ground through school, university & parish outreach, engage in services of compassion to the homeless in the South Bronx, and learn how to evangelize in today’s multi-cultural context.

"For this reason I remind you to kindle afresh the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands." -2 Tim 1:6

4. Community Life

In Choosing ESM, we embrace a full-time residential community life. During this year of living together, we encounter other young people from different cultures and backgrounds. Our communal living is an effort to grow in charity and humility. We experience the joys and challenges of living with others, and develop life-long friendships.
